Rotary Club of Harris County
We are pleased to announce that the Rotary Club of Harris County will be a sponsor of the First Radio Controlled Model Boat Regatta at Callaway Gardens. For this sponsorship, we will donate all of our revenue, less expenses, to the Rotary International District 6900 Water for Ethiopia project. The Money we donate will multiply many times through matching grants from other sources. The $3,000 from our local club will multiply to $30,000 providing the funds to construct more than six wells.
While we here in the United SStates take water for granted, it is a precious and urgently needed resource in other parts of the world. In Ethiopia 21% of all children die before they reach the age of five. Water bourne parasites and other contaminants along with Typhoid and Malaria are the most common causes of these deaths.
We need your help and support to significantly reduce this infant and child mortality rate.
